Next week (April 10th-14th) is State Testing for all AISD Schools!
Help your students get prepared for testing by checking out the following tips:
1. Get 9-11 hours of sleep the night before a test.
2. Eat a healthy breakfast in the morning and drink plenty of water!
3. Arrive to school on time.
4. Have a positive attitude and motto, like "I've got this!"
5. Read all the directions and answer choices carefully before you pick the best answer.
6. Cross out and eliminate the answer choices you know are incorrect.
7. Don't get stuck on the more challenging questions. Skip, move on, and return to them at the end.
8. Do a quick and quiet brain break if you notice you are starting to lose focus.
9. Review and check your work after you have answered all of the questions.
10. And ALWAYS remember this: A test cannot measure your worthiness, lovability, kindness, empathy, curiosity, passions, creativity, or courage!

MHS Band needs to arrive at 5:00; Soloists need to arrive at 5:30 pm; Choir Students need to arrive at 5:45 pm for setup and warm up (if in sports, please bring concert clothes to change)
Concert Attire: Dress Nice (No jeans or sweats/hoodies; Brielle’s Closet is a great resource!)
(Concerts are worth a grade; students will only be excused by a note from home; Students are expected to attend the entire concert)

Yesterday, Mrs. Cook's second grade class made a trip to the high school as part of a Science & Literacy place-based unit created by Mrs. Jeannie Lindsey, which is centered around the invasive green crab!
High school student Shannon M. & science teacher Ian Hudson presented facts about the invasive green crab issue. The students were able to get an up-close look at these “invaders” and were very engaged with the learning! 🦀

Tomorrow (3/29) there is a National Weather Service and NOAA Tsunami TEST at 10:15 am.
Our schools will pause at 10:15 and discuss procedures in the event of an actual tsunami. Our buildings will not be evacuating during this simulation.

Just before Spring Break, Brian Hutton (our Artist in Residence) visited AISD! He has spent the week engaging our secondary students on performance quality, creative writing and other theater arts focused themes.
The high school students concentrated on writing and podcasting, and the middle school students worked on a Reader's Theater version of the Lorax in which they presented to the kindergarten. Thank you to Brian and our students for a fun week!
