On Friday, 17 CLMS Students traveled to Ketchikan to watch the First City Players' performance of "A Wrinkle In Time!" They also got to visit the Rec Center and Totem Bight State Park. This was an incentive-based trip. To attend, students had to meet the criteria: Academics: 2.0 and no F's for the 2nd Semester, Attendance: no more than 3 absences starting 4/9, LiveSchool Points: Give your best effort, don’t interfere with the learning of others, and come to class on time and prepared. Our April 2024 Golden Apple Award of Excellence Winner is Naomi Leask! Here's what the nominator said: "Nominator Comments: Naomi is an excellent cultural teacher, she engages the kids with care and enthusiasm. Because of Naomi, generations of kids from middle school to high school will know how to bead, weave, know our cultural foods, and our history. She emphasizes how important it is to hold on to the Tsimpsean culture, language and how important it is to know how to prepare our foods, and remember our history. She has done an excellent job for years with culture camp, and bringing kids out into the forest to gather medicine and identify plants we use.
