CLMS Cross Country schedule & info for Saturday, October 1 AT Ketchikan: Please eat/ bring your own breakfast, bring SNACKS. Pizza will be provided after the race at the Rec Center. Students should bring: school tshirt & shorts for the race (provided today at practice), extra clean clothes for after the race, deodorant, SNACKS, WATER, bathing suit (optional- rec center), towel (if swimming), money (optional - school is providing pizza). 7:40 am: Be at CLMS 7:50 am: Bus leaves for Ferry 9:00 am-9:45 am: Arrive at Ketchikan 10:00 am (approximately): Bus arrives at Ward Lake 12:00 pm: Boys Run 12:40 pm: Girls Run 1:30-4:25: Rec Center with Pizza 5:15pm: Ferry back to Annette Bay 6:30 pm: Pick Up at CLMS If you are taking your student after the race, please check in with Coach Parise, Coach Jamie, or Principal Hudson! REMINDER: Orange Shirt Day is Tomorrow- please join our students and staff at a community-wide assembly to recognize Orange Shirt Day beginning at 8:30am 9/30 at the MHS Gym. We hope to create a space of healing for our students, staff, and community as we recognize and honor family members of the Metlakatla Community who attended residential boarding schools. We will have speakers from our AISD Staff and community members, be led in singing and dancing by our Cultural Educators, and will take a Healing Walk around the school. We will also be live-streaming the event for those who cannot attend in person. *Please note: Picture day is still taking place tomorrow. The nominator said, "Jody often deals with students who have made unfortunate behavior choices, students who are late and need a place to eat breakfast, students who are injured or sick and need a bandaid and some comfort. She does so on top of her regular office duties and does so with much grace, patience and compassion. She deserves recognition for her dedication." Each month the Department of Student Services seeks to recognize and honor outstanding staff members who display EXCELLENCE in working to ensure students with disabilities have the opportunity for an inclusive education with their peers as part of the general education curriculum and school community.
