Attention AISD Community: Tomorrow (Monday, October 16th), ONLY the elementary school will start one (1) hour later to allow time for our ES staff to meet. To accommodate this, the normal bus schedule for the elementary school ONLY will also be pushed back by one (1) hour. The middle and high school will begin at their normal time. Dear Metlakatla Community, In light of the recent tragedy in our community, today’s DDF Events have been suspended. Thank you to our Southeast Alaska Community for your support of our students and staff today. In addition, school will be delayed by one (1) hour for students on Monday, October 16th to provide a time to meet with our staff. Additional information will be provided tomorrow (Sunday) regarding bus scheduling. The district and our community will be providing support for our students and staff throughout the week. The Superintendent House will be open today until 5:00 pm, and we will have staff available for our students and families to come and check in, get resources, and be around one another. The ES gym will also be open until early this afternoon for MHS students who need an additional space. This tragedy affects our students and staff in many different ways. MHS Band & Choir are doing a fundraiser this Saturday, Oct. 14 during the home DDF meet! We'll be selling fry bread and syrup 8:30-10:30 am & Indian Tacos 10:30-1:30 in the MHS Commons. This sale is open to the community as well as DDF participants! We are in need of supplies: fry bread, plastic forks/knives, syrup, taco meat, lettuce, tomatoes, plates, salsa, olives, onions, & sour cream. Please let Ms. Schoolland know by Wednesday if/when you can help and/or what ingredients you may be able to supply.
