Check out Daniel M.'s first carving project in Native Arts Class!
This is a traditional halibut hook. Daniel started working on it during the second quarter of the school year and just finished it. After completing the carving, shaping, gluing, and sanding, this hook can now be connected to a halibut skate.

Concert Attire: Dress Nice (No jeans or sweats/hoodies; Brielle’s Closet is a great resource!)
(Concerts are worth a grade; students will only be excused by a note from home; Students are expected to attend the entire concert)

Recently, Metlakatla High School's Drama, Debate & Forensics (DDF) team traveled to Anchorage to compete in the Alaska State Championship! Our students competed against schools from all over Alaska, and all 12 competitors did a fantastic job in their events.
Jasper Booth became Metlakatla's 4th ever finalist and medalist in DDF, winning 4th place in Pantomime with his original performance "Gamer Rage."
Coach Owen Fulton was chosen as the DDF coach of the Year for the 2022-2023 season, and Coach Chaya Pike was elected to serve as the President of the State Coaches' Association until 2025.
Thanks to all the staff, parents, and community members who supported DDF throughout its long season! 🎭
