Last week, seven Metlakatla High School students had an incredible experience at the Alaska AHEC (Area Health Education Centers) Conference in Anchorage! Not only did they earn free college credits, but they also toured the Alaska Native Medical Center and participated in a nursing simulation lab. Students worked with simulated patients and were coached by real healthcare professionals—an amazing hands-on opportunity. We’re so proud of the professionalism and growth our students showed! A special thank you to Lynda Hernandez at UAA for making this happen. 🩺

In order to provide the best support for our students, Metlakatla High School will begin the school day at 9:05 a.m. (starting with second period) on both Monday, March 9th, AND Tuesday, March 10th, to give staff time to meet before students arrive.
Please note: both the elementary and middle school will operate on their regular schedule on both days.
