We are excited to offer the Aleutian Ballad Tour trip to our students in kindergarten through 5th grade on Wednesday, April 29th! We are grateful to the Aleutian Ballad Crew and MIC for making this trip happen! 🛥️
Here are the details:
-When: Wednesday, April 29th
-Time: 9:00 am - 11:00 am
-Location: A.I.R. surrounding area
-Transportation: Walking to state dock
-Who: Kindergarten through 5th grade
-Please ensure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather. It can get cold on the boat, please make sure your child has warm clothing!
-Students must have a completed permission slip in order to participate.
-Please note: Students must arrive on time on the day of the trip. If students arrive late, they will have to remain at the school with a staff member until the classes return from the trip.

Last week, the sophomores and juniors got to spend two full days going over plans for life after high school. Jess and Jacki were extremely engaging and made the sometimes stressful topics manageable, and helped motivate goal setting! We already can't wait to have them back next year!
We've included the agenda for each of the days so you can see all of the wonderful information and activities the students worked on! We are so proud of our students for digging in and working towards their next steps after high school!

Last week, seven Metlakatla High School students had an incredible experience at the Alaska AHEC (Area Health Education Centers) Conference in Anchorage! Not only did they earn free college credits, but they also toured the Alaska Native Medical Center and participated in a nursing simulation lab. Students worked with simulated patients and were coached by real healthcare professionals—an amazing hands-on opportunity. We’re so proud of the professionalism and growth our students showed! A special thank you to Lynda Hernandez at UAA for making this happen. 🩺
