Tomorrow we have our Aleutian Ballad trip! It looks like we are in for a turn in the weather. Please make sure your children are dressed for wet windy weather. We have reached out, and we are still planning to leave the State Dock at 9am.

The Richard Johnson Elementary Spring Concert will be Wednesday, May 21st at 6:00 pm at Metlakatla High School.
RJES Families:
-Please bring your student(s) to the HS Gym at 5:45 p.m. that evening, so that they can find their seats on the floor by their class and teacher.
-Attire for students is nice school clothes, and shoes that will be easy to move and dance in.
-The concert will be about half an hour long, and all students will demonstrate their growth in singing, musical movement/dancing, and playing instruments.

April in the Sm’algyax language is Ha'lila̱x sixs'waanx- it means the time to gather herring eggs! Yesterday, our first grade class was able to share a yummy snack. Thanks to MIC for sharing laxsm xs’waanx (herring eggs on branches) with the community, and thank you to Ms. Chelsee Cook for the eggs on Legi (hairy seaweed). Luk’wil ts’maatk (it tastes really good)! The first graders enjoyed eating them and were also so happy to share them with others at RJES!
