- Welcome to 2006-2007 Academic Decathlon. This year?s curriculum revolves around the central theme of China. The breadth of the curriculum precludes our studying everything during our limited class time; therefore, we will focus our time and energy as follows: Major emphasis will be on Super Quiz and Language and Literature (critical reading, short selections including poetry, and the novel by Pearl S. Buck, The Good Earth). Our secondary emphasis will be on Speech and Interview, and an independent study area you will select from the remaining events.
Course Description: Students will participate in a comprehensive study of American Government. This includes looking at the foundations of American government, the three branches of government, state & local government, citizenship and political behavior.

In this class, we will build the High School yearbook, in print and digitally. Students will also build a personal digital scrapbook to practice skills. Topics taught are digital photography, digital photo editing, Microsoft Publisher, Dreamweaver, and other topics as needed to complete the digital yearbook.
This class explores netiquette and internet, digital presentations, digital photo editing, audio editing, and basic webpage design.
