PURPOSE: The mission of this course is to reinforce the basic math skills needed to successfully acquire scores of proficient or advanced on Skills Based Assessments exams and to facilitate passing of the Alaska High School General Qualifying Exam which is first taken in the spring of the Sophomore year.
- Students use basic algebra skills to solve equations of measurement pertaining to angles, degrees, circles, polygons, spheres and prisms.
- Students master basic algebra concepts and continue to evolve their skills to solve more complicated equations
- Students learn to use algebra to manipulate equations to solve for unknowns.
- Serves to introduce students to the concepts of Algebra and to reinforce basic skills to facilitate 100% passing rate of the High School General Qualifications Exam
