Fourth Grade Activities

A Native American Folktale

The fourth grade class created this film of a Native American Folktale, “Why Bat Flies Alone.” A folktale is a short story that teaches a lesson or explains why something is the way it is. Students voiced and illustrated this folktale themselves, after several weeks practicing the skills of rate, fluency and expression. Special thanks to Mr. Wetzel and his high school broadcasting class for helping to record and edit the production!
